I took the plunge

I decided that I needed to learn more on how that "other" computer company worked, so I picked up a Macbook (2 gig model) so I could learn Macs. I don't care what the commercials say, there's quite a bit of a learning curve. I did think it was funny that as soon as I got it connected to my network it downloaded a ton of security updates. I've been able to muddle through several of what I'm sure the Mac pros would think were simple things. I picked up on the two finger scrolling and the CRTL-Click for right click, things like that. I've accidentally uninstalled several downloaded program, tried to run EXE files, all that fun stuff. I can see WHY people like the Mac OS. It's a clean looking interface, boots fast, etc. Now...that said I did pickup a copy of Parallels to have a fallback to XP if needed. I'm a Microsoft Action Pack subscriber, so there's no way I'm shelling out the stupid amount of cash Microsoft wants for Office for the Mac, and I have a 500 meg PST file that holds my entire life that Entourage doesn't know what to do with so thats a BIG problem. I know theres a downloadable program to pull it over, but I fault MS for making it that much harder to move between platforms.
All and all I have to say it's going to be a fun adventure finding out what this thing is all about.
